10:00am – 11:30am – TALENT AGENTS & MANAGERS

Learn what Talent Agents are Managers are looking for in today’s competitive market and what  you need to know to secure representation. Other topics include a variety of new opportunities for actors including internet and reality shows. Panelists include Phil Brock – Theatrical Agent and Manager at (Studio Talent Group)Kathryn Boole – Literary Agent at (STG Literary), Monique Strong at (Power Talent Group) and Karim Muhammad at (The Polygon Group) with more agents to be added!

Headshots & resumes will be collected and presented to the Agents & Managers for consideration.

11:30am – 1:00pm – CASTING FOR FILM & TELEVISION 

Get tips and advice from Casting Directors, covering all aspects of the casting process for film, television, commercials and the internetCasting Director panelists include Gerald Webb who casts over 30 films a year for SYFY, Lifetime and others), Pam Bouvier casts not only television and feature films, but commercials and industrials. Learn audition techniques for different types of roles. More Casting Directors to be added!

Headshots & resumes will be collected and presented to the Casting Directors for consideration.

1:00pm – 2:30pm – FILMMAKERS PANEL

Join a panel of award-winning Directors, Producers, and Distribution experts. Special guests include Writer/Director/Producer Mick Garris (Creator of the Masters of Horror series on Showtime), and director on a number of TV mini-series based on Stephen King Novels including (The Stand, The Shining & Bag of Bones) and most recently was the Executive Producer on “Unbroken” (directed by Angelina Jolie). Other panelists include Director/Producer Chris Olen Ray (The Asylum) which has produced over 300 films, Writer/Producer Gerald Webb and Distributor Linda Nelson (Indie Rights Distribution) will discuss all platforms of distribution including foreign, domestic and internet distribution for VOD (Video on Demand), X-Box, Google Play & Hulu just to name a few.

The Panel will be moderated by Writer/Director/Producer (and BIFF President) Jeff Rector who will also impart valuable information on navigating the film festival circuit. Jeff’s first short film “Fatal Kiss”, was one of the first short films ever acquired by HBO for international broadcast.

2:30pm – 4:00pm – SCREENWRITING with WRITER/DIRECTOR SHANE BLACK

Learn about screenwriting from one of Hollywood’s most sought after  screenwriter/directors, Shane Black
(“Iron Man 3”, “The Long Kiss Goodnight” and “Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang”. Shane is currently in post-production on his latest film, “The Nice Guys” starring Ryan Gosling, Russel Crowe, Kim Basinger & Matt Bomer. Shane is currently working on a reboot of the “Predator” franchise and is currently developing the DC Comic Book “Doc Savage” for the big screen. Don’t miss this informative and entertaining panel to learn about writing scripts for the screen from one of the best in the biz! Joining Shane will be Actor/Director & Storyboard Artist J.Todd Anderson who storyboarded “The Nice Guys” and almost every film for The Coen Brothers.

Panel will moderated by actor/writer Steve Wilder (series regular on “Melrose Place” & “Days of Our Lives” and will be seen  in “The Nice Guys”. Steve is also the author of several scripts, including “Category 5”, an action heist film currently in development with Studio Canal and Original Film (with Shane attached as Producer).
