Hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving. Did you gather around the table with family and friends this year? That's what BIFF does at their annual Awards Gala. We enjoy a delicious dinner with filmmaker families, celebrities & friends while announcing nominees & winners from the Festival. We've added brand new Awards categories for 2023: Best Actor, Best Director, Best Cinematographer and Best Art Direction! Submit your film before December 31st to take advantage of our super early bird discount, but if your screenplay or film isn't ready yet, don't worry, because we'll be accepting submissions through April 30th, 2023. Meet Warren Pereira
Winner of BIFF's 2022 "Best Documentary Feature Film Award" for "Tiger 24!" After this year's festival, Toronto's Elevation Pictures picked up the North American Rights to Pereira's animal rights doc. Pereira emailed BIFF saying "Just wanted to thank you again for selecting TIGER 24 and for the award! Tiger conservation is important and your festival has helped spread that message. I also really appreciated my film playing in a real theater which does not always happen with film festivals. Look forward to coming back to your festival in the future."
