45th Anniversary Screening of “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory”
We are very excited to present a special 45th Anniversary Screening of the original musical classic, “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory” as part of the festivals family-friendly day of programming. It is also part of our “History of Cinema” program, which introduces classic studio films from a historical perspective, to inspire young audiences to develop and foster a deeper appreciation for the art of filmmaking.
“Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory” stars Gene Wilder, Jack Albertson, and Peter Ostrum and tells the story of Charlie, a kid from a poor family whose luck changes when he wins a golden ticket to a magical candy factory. He goes with his grandfather and together, they experience the adventure of a lifetime.
This is a special festival event. Free admission for anyone who comes to the screening dressed as a character from the film. There will also be a prize for “Best Costume”, and one lucky attendee will win a “Golden Ticket” for a special prize. There will also be a special “live” performance prior to the show by musical artist, Daniel Sugimoto.
